Why that color, why that material?
STUDIO BYCOLOR is a Tokyo-based design studio that takes a fresh look at what is right in front of our eyes, questioning what is considered normal in today’s expanding field of design. Kaori Akiyama founded STUDIO BYCOLOR in 2013. Once the core is in place, the colors and materials are used to further bring out the appeal and strengthen the meaning of the object. A design office that effectively utilizes colors and materials. INHERENT:PATTERN, the result of material experimentation, won the iF DESIGN AWARD 2022. STUDIO BYCOLOR has also received iF design award gold, DFA Gold Award, DIA Top 100, Good Design Award.
デザインの領域が拡がる今、当たり前を問い、私たちの目の前にあるものを一から見直すアプローチで活動するSTUDIO BYCOLOR。秋山かおりにより2013年に設立。その足元に眠る時間を掘り起こしながら、そのものが生まれた過程を知り、「芯」を据えたうえで、色や素材により魅力を一層引き出し、存在の意味を強めていく。素材実験から導き出されたINHERENT:PATTERNは2022年にiF DESIGN AWARD を受賞。
